ADVENTURES

Day date with my love

August 4, 2018

Yesterday, my husband & I were blessed with a day date. Unsure of what to do local, I mentioned this place in Costa Mesa, I had been dying to explore, & my husband was down to go. So we hopped on the freeway, enjoyed the hour drive chatting about life, goals, kids, you name it. The drive was not bad at all, it actually allowed for more time of being intentional with one another. We arrived at The Lab Anti-Mall first & Let me tell you it did not disappoint. Then we made it to The Camp & this place, I honestly could live there.

We started of at The Lab. Explored all the shops & swung in there cozy chair swings awhile. The design of this place was absolutely dreamy. So much style & design. Then we walked across the street to The Camp. I could have spent the whole day here. It was like a bohemian dream. We swung in a hammock, window shopped & enjoyed the little nooks hidden around every corner.

It was is the perfect day. We explored, held hands, laughed, talked, dreamed & the best part we didn’t break the bank. Although I think I could have.:) So if your in the Costa Mesa, check out these hidden gems. I’m dying to go back with my gal pal when she visits for the holidays.

MAMAHOOD

Refuel & Recharge

March 27, 2017

This past Saturday I woke up to breakfast in bed followed by a day to myself. Mamahood was hard this week, so a day to myself was much needed. For me nature is the place where I recharge. So off to nature I went. In the Bible, time & time again we see Jesus going up to the mount of olives to pray. Getting away from the hustle & bustle of the world & refueling.
I found myself in La Jolla at a beach trail I had always wanted to hike but never been able to do as it is not kid friendly. So being child free I decided to seize the day & go for it. Boy am I glad I went! It was absolutely gorgeous. The ocean off in the distance, surrounded by wildflowers everywhere was just breath taking. The hike took about twenty minutes & ended on the beach. There is something about being in nature surrounded by so much beauty that just rocks me to the core. With every breath, I just feel embraced by my Heavenly Father & stand in complete awe at the beauty which surrounds me.
The beach was perfect. No crowds, just some surfers, a tiki hut, sand & sunshine. My kind of beach. So I climbed up to the tiki hut took in the view, & found a spot to set up camp. It was so relaxing to just lay out & take in the scenery without having to worry about any littles being swept out to sea. I was so relaxed in fact, that I took a nap on the beach. I can’t remember the last time I napped on the beach, Definitely pre children.
So I want to encourage you to take time for yourself no matter the season you’re in. Taking time to refuel & recharge is so good. Trust me you will come back to reality ready to conquer the world! I soaked up the sun, read my bible, prayed & came back home feeling refreshed. Now I’m ready to take on this new week & pour into my family & love them better. On another note I am planning on posting some of my favorite free things to do in San Diego, who would love to here about our favorite spots? Enjoy your week & take some time for yourself…you know you want to 😘

FAMILY

Lasting Impressions

February 27, 2017

This past weekend our four your old, Mason went to his grandma & grandpas’ for a few days. When we arrived at my parents their entire downstairs had been transformed into a campground wonderland. They had the camp chairs, fake fire ring, they even had brought in trees from outside. Mason was so excited. But the surprises didn’t stop there. We roasted weenies (hotdogs) over an open fire & made smores. And as if that wasn’t excitement enough they had a tent that the boys assembled so they could sleep in it for the night. Remind you this was just his first day. Everyday since then we have heard about all the fun each day has brought, it just melts my heart.

The planning, the patience, the pouring into. These are the days our little Mason will remember, being poured into & feeling loved. For as long as I can remember my parents did their best to display their love for us in simple yet creative ways & as you can tell continue to do so. Every year on their anniversary my parents would go away for a week & leave us with my aunt. But they wouldn’t leave us empty handed, each day they were gone they had cards with kisses & on some days there was even little gifts. It was such a special thing for us.                         Now I’m leaving cards for my little guy. Every day he is away from us, his cards say how much we love him. Some are from mommy & daddy, some just daddy, some just mommy, & some from his baby brother Jaxon.

In conclusion, I’m not saying turn your house into a campground so your kids feel loved & leave love notes everyday. Im saying that no matter how grand or simple the gesture, these things leave a mark on hearts. Whether it be for your husband, your children, friends, family you are leaving an impression. An impression that can cultivate a chain reaction of love. So today go out of your way to share the love you feel for someone in your life in a simple yet unexpected way.

I would love to hear about your lasting impressions! Feel free to share.
